whisper of the islands
Collected from different islands, each element in these works holds its own story and memory. The plants remember what we were never meant to forget. Bound together, these natural fragments form is an act of connection, it links distant remote places which are often forgotten. In this new herbarium collection, once-separated pieces now coexist, reimagined as new species.
Delicate yet resilient, these plants have been shaped by their environments and time, some of them so fragile and some of them growing thorns for protection. In them, I see a reflection of ourselves: a shared desire to belong, to be seen, understood, and to coexist.
These botanical compositions serve as an analogy to nature itself—revealing how we, like plants can be fragile and strong at once, rooted and reaching, independent yet deeply connected.
